Frank French find in Arizona January 2009

I'm presuming it's a Standard 8
Frank French
It is in very good shape and you can see a bit of a shine on the shady side.

The back of the Standard, the paint is rather faded but the licence tag is 09, so it's in use

With the trafficators and right hand drive it is probably late 1950's.

Here's more info on Standard Eight: http://www.motorbase.com/vehicle/by-id/1124/
By the looks of it that one must be one of the very earliest. Sliding glass rather than roll-
up windows, tiny tail lights, no hub caps. Probably a 1953.

Neat! It is an early Standard 8, circa 1953, and it's one of the very basic versions with sliding door glass and no external boot lid. The car had been for sale on eBay awhile back, but perhaps it didn't sell. I wouldn't mind having it if it weren't over 2000 miles away.
Last I knew, the owner still had the original 803cc engine for it, but it's running an 1147 Herald or Spitfire engine currently, as I recall.
