Pier 4 Cruise Night, Hamilton
By Tony Fox
For those of you that didn’t attend the Euro night at Pier 4 this year you missed a real treat, three front rows of predominantly British cars plus a few German and Italian made for a terrific display. This year our club was a co-sponsor of the event so we got the privilege of being front and center with a lot of input from our Chairman John Griffith. The live band played music of the period dominated by the British Invasion, lots of Beatles songs to enjoy.
The Pier 4 Cruise night is weekly throughout the summer except for rainy nights, the City doesn’t permit us to be on the grass when very wet. It is tirelessly organized by John booth, or Dr. John as he is known.
There are things for all the family to do there in the area in addition to the beautiful cars, kids playground, nice lakeside walks and restaurants to suit everyone. On site is a hotdog & hamburger van also serving ice creams.
This year there was a quite unique motor home named the Peacemaker, based on a 50’s GMC bus chassis with a raised roof grafted on to get more interior height, powered by a Detroit Diesel 60 series engine.
Make sure you get in on the night next year and support our club plus volunteers are always welcome to direct incoming vehicles.
