Winter Wonderland
|
Winter is here and well entrenched
Now, our LBCs are tucked away to wait out spring
In the past, though, our LBCs had to slog through the winter snows in our service and pleasure
That is where I think the bulk of submissions will come from, but some people currently run their LBCs in the winter now, in rallys and races.
What ever you have. You and your kids or your parents digging out your Rover, Austin or Anglia. Were you a spectator or participant in any rally or ice race events

Looking across the alley between Elphinstone and Montague Streets in Regina Saskatchewan. This is late winter or early spring of '64 or '65; I can't remember which.
Above is an Austin Somerset and, I think, a Ford Tannus
Below is a Vauxhall or Envoy in the back yard next to the Dodge or Plymouth

Sorry guys, no snow drifts, no rallying, but I have a snowball toss.

Frank French sent these in from Edmonton Alberta where the snow may fall but the salt doesn't

Above: Looks like a chilly morning to get a paper, Rolly Burton drives this Spitfire year round. Jonathan Smethurst owns the B he is next to.
Below: Dennis Coulthard drives this Mini which looks like it does not stop for winter, either.

Above is a group of photos of my '58 MGA 'Moggie', taken THIRTY
years apart. Same car, same road, same spot (conc 9 Puslinch Twp). Different fog lamps and hardtop, no longer in rally trim.
She was my daily driver from June 1963 to November 1969 when she was put in
storage. I then drove a '64 MGB for a few years. Moggie finally got back on
the road in 1984, after much re-building.
Below is another photo I found of my 'Moggie' in November of 1969.
Cheers! and Happy 2009.

Now and Then
Above: Tony Fox's Jaguar under snow. There are new LBC's that still have to trudge through winter.

Storage, storage, where's my storage?
Two pictures of my 1967 Jaguar 420, Grace, taken on January 23, 2004. We'd just moved to Owen Sound and hadn't got storage arranged for a couple of days! Five years on, and she's comfortably ensconced in a barn, sharing space with the barn owner's 1967 Ford Mustang.
Cheers, Alan
