BSCCOC Picnic August 24th 2008
I had e-mailed Dave Allen, (aka the Mini Doctor) telling him I would not be taking Bugsy, the Wonder Sprite, if it were raining.
As Dave was driving from Mildmay, (Centre of the known universe) he would run into bands of showers.
Bugsy’s coming.
Bugsy’s not coming.
Bugsy’s coming.
By the time he got to my place Bugsy was out, gassed, with a clean windshield and without mouse seed. I had the top in the back and Bugsy was ready to go. I have been wet before. I would be wet again.
At the gatehouse we were whisked through quickly.
Well as quick as the speed bumps would allow.
You would have thought I had a third eye or something.
Did someone tell her about men driving Little British Cars?
The skies were more threatening than this picture indicates. The first thing I did was to put up Bugsy’s top. For not being on for a couple of years it stretched out well.

The Cars
This is the "Lady B" a 1949 Bentley Mk. V1.
It has a history of prototype testing at the factory until refurbished for the market and sold to Sir Miles Thomas, DFC.
Its history takes it through John Smith of Milverton to its present owners, Marilyn and George Morita of Campbelville.
John Tatham would have pulled over the Bentley for speeding or Grey Poupon.
But, could he keep up with the Stags?
